I have no words to describe how much I love the book, its characters, and simplicity! It's everything I needed to fill the void I felt after finishing To All the Boys I've Loved Before. It's so cliché, yet so heartwarming and satisfying.
BEHOLD THE EXCELLENCE I.E. ANN LIANG
How do I even start?
I expected to enjoy it, but this book did more than entertain me. It ripped my heart into pieces, made me feel for Sadie, but also empathize with Julius. This is something I didn't expect. I felt myself seen in Sadie AND Julius. Sadie is one side of the spectrum- taking on responsibilities she shouldn't need to, while feeling the need to be perfect for the sake of her family. Julius is on the other end of that spectrum. He needs to be perfect too, but to reach up to the standards of a perfect older sibling. Older sibling and younger sibling syndromes, chef's kiss.
But beyond that, THE BANTER. THE SLOWBURN. THE PASSION. I finished it in one sitting, and pondered for a while because wow, this book called me out. In MULTIPLE ways.
Only small issue: more of Julius' life, please! But other than that, I'm obsessed with Ann Liang and I'm now a loyal reader.

Such a great YA novel! Adorable plot, hilarious main character. Very similar to To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.
the ending was a little rushed but 15 year-old me would have been so obsessed with this book and i still see my self in it a little so even though this book is far from perfect, i would highly recommend
