I'm a pretty big Elin Hilderbrand fan, and this novel was a pretty good one--I've read better from her (The Blue Bistro) but I've read worse, too (Beautiful Day). It was a classic Hilderbrand summer tale set in Nantucket, which I always like. Though the one thing that didn't make sense to me was the title. It didn't make sense to me at all after reading the book. I really enjoyed both Renata and Marguerite as characters, and was eager to read more in the story to find out more details. While I predicted what would happen there were enough other twists and turns to keep me reading and keep me interested.

Okay so when I read other peoples' reviews of this book and they were like "omg I didn't see the ending coming11!" I was like whaaaat? It screamed "LESBIAN/BI" all the way from the beginning. I was afraid that the author, being usually a bit more conversative in her writing, wouldn't go there but she did. I really enjoyed this book :)
I enjoyed this one. It was one of her earlier books but still had that great story line. I honestly did not know what was going to happen until the last 10-12 pages. Elin never really lets me down and makes me want to visit Nantucket more and more! One day I'll make it there. I would def. recommend this book! On to my next read.....
This is your perfect beach book, or the perfect summer read if you are dreaming of the beach but are stuck in middle America. Renata is 19 year old, newly engaged, and finally looking for closure and understanding for her mothers death 14 years before. Marguerite is Renata's godmother who blames herself for her friend (Renata's mother) death. The beginning was very enjoyable to read, nut I found myself getting bored midway through. I sort of saw the ending unfold by midway through the book and wished for it to keep something to wonder about as the story unfolded.
Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favorite authors, but this was not one of my favorite books by her. This book focuses on one weekend, where long time secrets that were buried, come to surface. I felt like this book dragged on a little longer than necessary. It was okay, but I wouldn’t recommend if it’s your first time reading her books.
An interesting story that takes place in Nantucket. I loved the father's quote "You shouldn't be able to get married until you have traveled to 3 different countries, had 5 different lovers and cooked your own Thanksgiving dinner."
Surprisingly, this wasn’t my favourite book by Elin Hilderbrand. I found it to be mildly forgettable. Normally, I completely devour her books, but this one left me wanting more. It was good enough to read cover to cover in one sitting, but I predict I won’t be able to tell you much about the plot or characters in a few short months.
