Lady of the Lake is the third book out of the Fey Academy for Spies series, and I greatly enjoyed it. The author continues where the last cliff-hanger left off. While there are some definite tense moments, the author continues to add sprinkles of humor to break it up. Our FMC Nia learns to embrace who she is; after all, risking it all is maybe the only way she can save it.
Lake of the Lake wasn’t as good as book two, in my opinion. Primarily, because some matters still felt unresolved and for how long the war lasted (all three books) the ending, I didn’t personally find very satisfying. I do understand that there are plans for more books in this world that follow other characters, but it currently just feels incomplete. I also really need some closure from Raphael and Nia, but the situation wasn’t really addressed again.
Overall, I definitely recommend it. If you like slow-burn romance, with some loss/grief and betrayals, this book is for you.

I really enjoyed this series. It pulled me out of a reading slump, and while it’s not groundbreaking, it’s fun, fast-paced, and easy to get through. There were a few parts that felt rushed and others where I wish we’d had more time to sit with the characters and the consequences. Nia is out here killing ancient fey like it’s a side quest, which definitely made me raise an eyebrow. But I really appreciated that the romance had time to develop and wasn’t focused entirely on the spice. A solid, enjoyable series.
