Ch. 21 hit home, hard. A war novel situated not on the front but in a hospital. Romanticizes nothing and reveals the reality of soldiers’ psychological and moral damage. Interesting narrator, especially liked how he analyses his own dreams. I think the patient in the chair was his pragmatic self trying to silence his humane self. Also enjoyed the historical element of Sassoon and Owens “writing” out their poems.
