I absolutely loved this book. The humor and dialogue were so fun to hear. The characters were endearing and understandable in their struggles.

The only thing I was annoyed by was
when Max proposed for the first time. There is always a miscommunication at the end of contemporary romance books, which is a sad predictability, but it was still disappointing. I also was annoyed by Dani because she was all "I love him but he doesn't love me," which is frustrating when you know he feels differently. But I suppose that is the point of pinning love stories. Still, I think that the epilogue and aftermath of the last fight scene made up for it.

I loved so much about this book and the character development of the side characters as well as the main character. It's just so nice to see a romantic male, love-interest respecting boundaries.
When Dani told him not to contact her, he respected that and didn't break it, I really appreciated that.

Also, side thought, I love it when men in fiction enjoy touch or sexual actions that aren't just penetration, it's just so nice to see. And how reverent Max is, Ah, amazing.
Needless to say, I think this is a great read and very lovely for people who could use a little love boost. :)

This was such a great sequel! I thought Jenny Holiday did a good job of developing Max's playboy character and getting him to the point of being ready for a relationship. I thought she didn't do as good a job with Dani, but it was still a good job.

It wasn't quite as Christmasy as the first one - it began and ended on Christmas, but most of the book took place between Christmases.

M/F, contemporary romance, friends to lovers

Found this one after aimless scrolling on Libby and was pleasantly surprised! I was afraid it would be too holiday-y but it takes place over the course of a year so was not an issue.

Absolute A+ banter from these two (he's a playboy almost-duke w/ daddy issues, she's a biracial professor w/ a shitty almost-ex husband). It was fun to follow the story from the start of their friendship through the slow-but-not-too-slow burn of their romance. The end didn't quite hit the mark for me hence the less than perfect score but the story was still super enjoyable.

Bonus points for making the dog and the dude have the same name.
