It was a nice, cozy mystery. Really enjoyed the characters and setting and the mystery unfolds nicely. A great start to a series, definitely looking forward to reading the rest.

Pleasantly suprised by how much I enjoyed this cozy low fantasy book. I enjoyed the writing and modern setting of this book. I, particularly, enjoyed the conversation around the realistic applications of what a library does and usefulness of a library! This is a part of a series so I will most likely check it out!

I started this on Halloween. You've got to read something witchy then, eh?

Enjoyable cozy mystery. But the Josie needing to turn her back on her witch powers to keep herself safe made no sense. Her being a witch or not wouldn't have changed her mother's prediction.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy (ARC) through NetGalley. I received this copy free in exchange for my honest review.
A mystery, a library, a small town and a witch! Josie is a librarian at the library of Congress, who overhears a senator making a shady deal. When she and a co-worker whistleblow it, the co-worker disappears. So Josie feels she needs to too. She answers an ad for a librarian position in Wilfred, Oregon. But not all is as ideal as it seems. Josie finds a dead body on her first day. This was a great seasonal read, The characters in Wilfred were wonderful and colorful. And the library itself was magical. I’m not 100% sure I like Josie, but I don’t hate her either. It is obvious this is meant to be a first book in the series, and I do look forward to reading more.

This made my bookworm heart so happy! I love the magic and connection to the library. Witches, books, libraries and a murder mystery- what is not to like?!

3.5 stars - this is a fun new to me series - a witchy librarian! I love the a witch learning of her powers. And fighting to save a library. Over all quite entertaining.
