3.5 stars....i mean...i mean....I think this book was marketed wrong. was it a romance book? yes. but it was a story about the grief process of having someone you love get hurt. it was a story about not knowing what to say and having every emotion possible. yes i cried. i think a better book of this genre is "You've reached sam." however this was a good book. i understand why they didn't end up together because of all the pain...but if you knew that they why did you drag it alone for so long.

There is so much tension! How do you go from being joined by the hip to your best friend to making out with her brother on his bed to all three of y’all being estranged. To be fair, losing your best friend and sister can change a person, especially if there is a sliver of hope she can wake up from her coma. Eden and Truman are living in their personal inferno. Suffering without their sunshine (Katie) while avoiding their only lifeline (each other). Honestly thought there was going to be a miracle, and Katie would come back. While I would have been annoyed that the ending would have been unrealistic, I am also a sucker for a happy ending.

😀
This book is so fucking sad and slow paced. I read it in 3 days and loved it.
I didn’t expect to even like this book. I’m not one for the “best friend’s brother” trope or wattpad writers, but here I am ugly sobbing over it.
The characters are lovable in a heartbreaking sort of way. Truman was really relatable to me, which isn’t something I say about many characters. I cried in probably every chapter from his POV.
This book is probably not for everyone. Not much gets resolved plot-wise, and the characters blaming themselves for Katie’s accident is constant and not very logical, but that’s just how grief is.
I really liked that the two main characters handled their grief and depression in different ways.
