Emily Henry

4.07 AVERAGE

This is becoming a theme with Emily Henry books. I wanted to like this so bad, but I couldn’t get into it. I was not prepared for all of the backstories and side characters. Needed more romance, less side plot!
emotional funny lighthearted medium-paced

I really enjoyed this refreshing romcom about writers block. The banter was great and the characters were dealing with realistic problems, in a realistic way. I liked the message of enjoying the moment and not worrying about the pain that the future will inevitably hold. I have obviously been reading too many historical romances, where happily ever after is guaranteed forever. Here, there are no promises for the future, only hopes, and I relate to that.
