So, I mean I guess he's human after all hahaha ;-;
Don't get me wrong, the book is good and as always you can never guess who the perpetrator is still the very end (he's SO good at that I'm jealous of his talent) but I feel cause he's so good at writing these that this one feels a bit like a let down cause there's nothing unique about it unlike the first two. Which tbf is a bit harsh from me because it's still is a good murder mystery, just not a Higashino level one if that makes sense.

Not a bad mystery by any means, but I would say this is my least favorite by this author since I know how good Higashino's novels can be.

Another page turner from Keigo Higashino
If you have enjoyed Keigo Higashino's previous novels, you will not be disappointed in this one. The plot and characters are delightfully complex with a variety of suspects and side stories. The descriptions of Nihonbashi district of Tokyo and of the Nihonbashi Bridge are excellent. Using the descriptions and an Internet search for photos can help readers who have never been to Tokyo imagine that they are watching events unfold. It did for me.
I appreciate that the difficult employment situation and the poor treatment of workers not considered to be permanent was highlighted. Japan is not the only country by any means where this occurs. Businesses in the United States are also guilty.
I enjoyed the tension between some of the characters as well. I didn't remember that Kaga and Matsumiya were cousins. That fact added so much complexity to their work relationship. I also liked Kaga's relationship with the nurse Kanamori. I will be looking forward to the next book.
