I think this is too YA for me. Like I normally enjoy YA but this feels particularly poorly written. Nothing has gripped me in the first 10% that makes me want to push forward. I can see how much research the author has done but unfortunately that hasn’t made it engaging. I’ll be donating this one

I found the pacing in the first half to be so painfully slow that I almost dnf-ed so many times. Ultimately stuck to it and i guess im glad i did.
i was so proud of lily for standing up to herself and being true to her love for Kath. But i also couldnt help but feel disappointed with how aunt judy didnt defend her, given how much she loves her and how she is so supportive of her dreams.
