Oh, Jane, I adore thee.

Hirshfield has managed to write poetry that sometimes seems incomplete, and sometimes hits you right where it hurts, and I wonder if that is the intent of the whole package. Benefits from multiple read-throughs (like most poetry) and access to the internet sometimes. (I'd give it like 3.5 stars if I had the technological capability).

This collection from one of my favorite poets just didn't reach out and grab me, except in the case of the following poems:
-Shadow: An Assay
-Seawater Stiffens Cloth
-Wild Plum
-When Your Life Looks Back
