i saw an ad for this on my kindle while i was opening it to do reading for one of my classes and instead of doing said reading, i spent my time reading this.
it's interesting, and i don't feel like a wasted time reading it. i already do a lot of these techniques, but it was cool to sit down and dissect the ways i move my eyes while speed reading and such.
mans definitely should have put some citations somewhere though because he says some things that definitely needed some sort of source. not in a dangerous way but, also not in a non-plagiarized way. this was also funny to me put next to the plagiarism notice at the beginning of the book (sir please make sure you're not plagiarizing before you go and say not to plagiarize)
oh and lastly, i don't believe most people will be able to read that fast even with these techniques so that title is a little bit sketch.

A great book that shares some practical guides on how to read faster. It helps that the book is short too and has practice drills sections, where one can revisit should they want to hone in on specific techniques in the future (which I have done and foresee doing a lot of times after this).
Don't expect immediate results though, these things take time for one to master..a point which the author highlighted a few times in the book. I have applied the recommended techniques and whilst the chunking method didn't really work for me, the space reading one did.
Initially thought the peripheral vision technique wouldn't be a practical one for me since I had missed out a lot of the text when I did the practice drills, but I somehow managed to make out the texts on number of pages in my last two reads just by running my eyes through the an imaginary vertical line at the centre of the page, without feeling the need to reread the pages after.
Not quite there yet, but here's to hoping that I will be able to read 200 pages in an hour soon!

Speed reading
There are fine guidelines that I will try with my future reading material. Too bad I started this book in a hectic period and I didn't had time to read it faster

I was initially skeptical about this book, as most of the advice I've heard to increase reading speed is "read the headings or subheadings and do a preread" (which only really applies to textbooks and nonfiction). But this book was very thorough and not only gave unique techniques to approach reading nonfiction and fiction, it also explained why we read. I didn't even realize that subvocalization - the act of reading words in your inner monologue - was a thing and was a factor in reading speed. I will use these techniques to hopefully get through my neverending TBR list of books faster.

I read (or at least read part of) a speed reading book probably at least 10-15 years ago and sadly I never really implemented the techniques and still read slower than I could. This was a good refresher as I try to increase my reading speed and comprehension, especially for reading non-fiction.
Good technique
Book provides a good summary of techniques including a few that are new to me. Can be a great help to those especially with attention deficit and study problems who need a challenge to keep them focused.

Perhaps the great irony is that it took me 3-4 hrs to read this 120-page book. Ok, just kidding, that was mostly because I genuinely tried to follow the exercises at the end of each chapter. I discovered that by the end of the book, I was reading much faster. I’ve always been frustrated by how slowly I read, especially when it comes to nonfiction, so learning that it’s possible to increase your reading speed drastically while improving your comprehension and focus was pretty cool.
