There was more story than spice and it was just okay to men. I wanted more filth but i know that’s a me problem and not the authors issue. Overall i enjoyed the plot and it was an decent read

SO GOOD!! I enjoyed every minute of this book. The emotional journey was real. The emotional conflict was intense. The sex scenes were HOT!! This was the first book of Danielle Allen that I've read if this is an indication of her writing I am a new fan! I cant wait to read more of her books.

A reminder to stay away from those podcast bros who give relationship advice, even if he’s smart & seems kind.
I enjoyed the discussion on how those things are rooted in misogyny and it effects dating culture today. There’s absolutely no way I could root for this relationship though. Girl STAND up!

This book was cute. Akila and Carlos were destined from the beginning. It was cute how they came together. It took me forever to finish due to personal reasons but I enjoyed the read. I’m going to check out more books from this author.

okay this book was not what i expected at all but in a good way. and after reading this, i finally understood what the message behind the cover was about. props to Akila for standing her ground and not letting her attraction to Carlos move her, and Carlos for being the man every man is supposed to be.

Let’s change the game...
It all started with a sexist podcast: Date Night with The Lost Boys...
There’s something about a man in grey sweatpants - right? Ladies, y’all know what I’m talking about. Akila Bashira, feminist, columnist, ambitious, working on her brand, and will call you out on your $#i+. She’s on the come up. She has already interviewed to work for her favorite magazine, founded by her Shero, and is about to begin a photography course instructed by the famous Luca Romano. The class requires a partner and the first person she comes in contact with she ends up finding her unbearable. Her only reason for being there is to try to sleep with Luca. Of course, Akila thinks she’s a wasted spot in the class because serious individuals wanted to get into the course and didn’t. The only other person she noticed seemed to be napping, but what the hell, it has to be better right?
She tried to awaken Sleeping Beauty, but to no success. In walks Luca, and Akila is transfixed on his every word, taking notes, and nodding as if it’s their conversation. She turns to her potential partner only to find the most soft brown eyes and long dark lashes she’s ever seen before. This is her partner for the course, introductions are made, his name is Carlos Richmond and his voice sounds like sex feels. Oh yeah, he’s Los, from The Lost Boys...damn! Oh well...
Her spirits are lifted when she gets a personal call from her Shero wanting to see her for another interview. It’s just a formality because she has the position, but it’s shared. She liked her piece she did on The Lost Boys and wants her to do a series with a fellow writer about the city’s single dating scene from a male/female POV. In walks Carlos Richmond...damn. The only point of view she can think about is the accidental view of his print in those damn grey sweatpants! She likes Carlos, but thinks the guys are trash and he’s therefore “trash adjacent.” He’s starting to consume her thoughts awake and asleep, and they have to spend a lot of time together. She only has one option, find out how real that print is. The confirmation was earthquaking!!! The print was even better than advertised.
When things get too personal between A. Bashira and one of The Lost Boys, and things get really deep with Carlos, decision must be made. The decisions on both of their parts are life altering, but Akila’s makes a BOLD statement in terms of objectification.
