no fault of the book. going through a breakup and this book isn’t the vibe right now. i will come back to it later!

Listened to on audiobook- I think I get annoyed with Jay Shetty because I know he is right

i bought this book a year ago when it came out and at the time, i was going through a breakup but i was nowhere near ready to start the healing journey i'm currently on. but sometimes it takes that one person to kick your ass into healing things start to change.

i learned a lot not only about myself, but a lot about healing and why solitude is important to healing. there's a lot of wisdom in here that i think can be beneficial to those that are starting their own healing journey. while i don't see myself entering a relationship again anytime soon, this is a book i can see myself revisiting in the future when i need to remember to stay grounded instead of running with the worst case scenario.

I borrowed this from the library on my Kobo but I now want my own physical copy for easy references.

I found this book to be very insightful and helpful. There were some good tools and reminders that were definitely needed. I love how much he focused on the importance of self love because I do believe that to be incredibly important.

There were good tools to use and understand while being in a relationship, exiting a relationship, and/or wanting to enter a relationship. I personally have always felt one of the main reasons relationships fail is because of lack of communication or not understanding how your partner communicates and heals. This book was a good reminder of this.

I guess it's been a lot of misses with nonfiction lately.

I picked this up after the "scandal" about Jay Shetty. Yes, the fact that he connects his "rules of love" back to knowledge from Think Like a Monk isn't a bad thing; it's refreshing to see a different take on a topic that's been saturated with the same stuff over and over. However, I really only connected with the first couple chapters and the last chatper, probably because I'm not in the point of my life that the rest of the chapters would matter.

It's a nice to have, and maybe a book to have on my shelf for a later read.
