If there were half stars in this system I would have given it 3 and a half.
It is a cute book, but I think that I preferred the first one in the series (Stargirl). I liked looking at the character of Stargirl from someone else's perspective rather than her own. I would recommend both books, however.

A very cute story. I think we were all hoping to know more about Stargirl after the first book, so this book was very well accepted. I was a little disappointed that Leo was not in this book, but somehow that made the book even more real. In real life, the boy separated from the girl does not show up suddenly at the perfect moment as a surprise and they don't get back together and move to the same town again and live happily ever after. This was a much more realistic book with a realistic ending. Not sad, but hopeful. I enjoyed it a great deal.

I absolutely adored this book. If I am being completely honest I loved it even more than the first. When I read a book I usually pretend I am the character for a while or at least I carry around what they embody. But with Stargirl I believe she will impact me for a very long time. The way the Spinelli describes maturing while simultaneously staying true to oneself, makes me believe that every adult would be happiest if they let go of the seriousness they seem to carry. I know a majority of these readers are young but if you happen to be an adult reading this right now, please add this to your to be read list. It is something that can bring multiple lessons which is what makes books so incredibly intricate. Stargirl is different in so many ways that she is not afraid to show but at the same time Spinelli shows she is figuring out her teenage years as well. My heart sinks when I hear of her wagon only having 3 or 4 pebbles. But it brings a closer connection to the readers, showing that even the brightest stars, even the loveliest of people, falter at the hardships of life. I urge anyone and everyone to read these two books. In my head Leo and Stargirl stumble across each other far off into their lives and rekindle a spiritual connection that was simply dimmed for many years. I dream that Perry has stayed in Stargirls life and they grow to watch Clarissa and Dootsie and Alvina come into their young adult years. I believe Betty Lou, and Charlie, and Arnold and Margie all hold a special place in their hearts for Stargirl. I am leaving this universe feeling fulfilled and satisfied which is an amazing feeling after finishing a book. :)

I started out really disliking this book because it was not typical of the Stargirl I came to know and love in the first book. However, I discovered that this book is a perfect example of sticking with a book from cover to cover because she totally redeems herself in the end, and the reader learns a really good lesson as well!

ditto for this one I liked it but the only thing i remember is some sort of solar/ lunar event like an eclipse or something and one chick had one really long nail that was pink and glittery. not all of them, just one.

Good, but not quite as magical as Stargirl. Here we find out what happens after the events of the previous book, when Stargirl moves away from Arizona. She makes surprising friends and has interesting adventures. Taking her out of the traditional high school environment I think makes the story less impactful, though. It's easy to be a special little snowflake when you don't have peer pressure to contend with.

I read this when I was 10 and I thought it was an amazing book at the time. I still think it's a good book because of the memories I have attached to the book.

As far as sequels go, I thought this one was amazing. I found myself tearing up on more than one occasion. It was a heartfelt read.
