Absolutely incredible and unique horror novel. I feel like I don’t even know how to describe this book: Yes, there’s some of the most repulsive, creepy body horror passages I’ve ever read (oh my gosh the chapter in the pitch black mine?!) but also passages with so much beauty and hope! So sensitive, scary and wonderful all around. Wanderers and now this? I’m a HUGE fan Wendig!
Also: SUPER entertaining and paced well, I didn’t feel bored at all and it’s 525 pages.

This is a work of art. The Book of Accidents is a blend of so many different types of horror mixed with some interesting scifi elements.
It's reminiscent of Stephen King's The Shining and Dark Tower series, Stephen Chbosky's Imaginary Friend, and Nick Cutter's The Troop.
If you love cosmic horror and different dimensions in your horror, this is 100% for you.
I loved that we got so many POVs from different characters, and the fantastical elements really played well in this story. Chuck Wendig really took his time developing this story and setting up the plot and it really paid off. The ending was a tad bit all over the place for me, but overall I really enjoyed this. It was well done and deliciously creepy.

I wanted to like this more than I did. It wasn't bad, just not as great as I had hoped. The author mentioned global climate change in super weird places and often. I feel he had a bet with a fellow writer on how many times he could bring it up without relevance to the story. He won that bet.

4.25 stars.
That was good stuff, like his writing style. Not my typical genre, but glad I kept going anyway as that was a wild ride.
