As much as I wanted to like this…I just don’t. Couldn’t finish it after making it halfway through the 500+ page book.

I am not the reader this book was meant for. The concept was interesting, but I didn't like the execution. While I normally enjoy alternating POV, in this book it felt messy and disjointed. The story would work as a miniseries, but as a book it feels tedious. And there must be some rule that all horror characters have to be the dumbest people alive with zero common sense. Literally Maddie was the only character that got me through this book.

I liked elements of it, the collapsing worlds of chaos stuff was interesting but promised more than it showed. I’d of liked to have spent more time with that stuff.
The end twist with Jake’s two extra helpers felt weird as well, no real foreshadowing but then they don’t even really do anything?
It was ok.

I didn't care about any of the characters and thought the mystery aspect was boring.
Wendig is a spectacular story teller. Whipped through this.

Would’ve been 5 stars except it was a little too long and some crucial parts of the story go unanswered like how Maddie has powers and why Carl sold Nate his house for $1 in the first place.
