I liked her other book so even though it has a significantly lower rating, I thought, how bad can it be!

Well, it was really bad. The characters have no arc or development throughout the book, the plot was all over the place, the story was connected by a thin thread and their story seemed forced.

So, I can blame the author for the blunder but I guess, the people who didn’t do their job right actually were the editor and publisher. See, the premise is not bad. It has potential. Any good editor would push the writer to see the small loopholes here and there. They would point out how the characters need depth. And most importantly any good editor would point out how Libby from BTTM and Livvy from MWN both say *band name - called it* and how that might portray the author in a negative light.

Things any good editor would point out-
- band name called it
- Livvy is just a brat and he still loves her (it makes the story more shallow) no the speech by the end of the book wasn’t enough. She should have created a more solid character with Livvy.
-colin (mwn) stops texting every now and then and she should have explored more of his thoughts and dilemmas about it.
-the girl who tattles against Livvy
-colin and his father's relationship
-the girl just landing one job after another(was it to show how amazing and yet a trainwreck she is)
-she could have created a more No Strings Attached/Friends with Benefits kinda sexual relationship or something. This one felt odd and didn’t help with their character.

Read this book after finishing a couple of intense drama books. It was a much needed cute and relaxed rom-com kind of book.

Note: If you are an "intense drama" lover or "books that make you cry" lover, then this book is not for you!

Pros

Rather short and can be breezed through pretty quickly. I loved the banter, fun, and chemistry between the leads and the whole brother's best friend trope.

Cons

I wish the overall "love" development between liv and Colin could have been explored more to really make it more believable that they were in love towards the end. However, for an easy-breezy read, I'm not complaining!

It was…fine. The ending was very rushed.

Hate Olivia. Can we go back to when she drank his celebratory $400 booze and didn't feel a sense of remorse at all? Sleeping in his bed without permission? Who the hell does that?? Half of the book was just me being like wtf at her actions; I get it's her character or whatever, but she's also supposed to be a grown adult.

It was good, but I do feel like Olivia overreacted and that kind of ruined the book for me

i feel like some issues were easily fixed if the protagonist asked (which ofc she did not) and that pissed me off, but the book is really easy to read and you fall in love with every character
