I didn't think I would like the book as much as I thought!!
It is a very interesting and cool magic system. I love the amalgamations of parts to make the constructs.
Quite gory at times, which is fine by me and the different PoVs was fun and how they were all connected to each other.
Excited to read the next book whenever I can get my hands on it.

I was so surprised by this book. I feel like next to no one talks about it and yet it has such a cool magic system!!!
I felt like this was a nice mix of political intrigue and action as well. I do have to admit though, the constructs sound real creepy

It took me a loooong while to read this but it was not because it was bad, I just wasn’t in a mood for a fantasy for a bit so I put it off.
“The Bone Shard Daughter” was very interesting, definitely a breath of fresh air and with a magic/powers system that was unlike anything I have read in ages. Sadly, I only really connected with Jovis and Mephi (who was so cute, omg) but I look forward to reading more now that the ante is upped and war seems to be *maybe* brewing.

And that was the worst thing about this grief – not just knowing that she was gone, but knowing that eventually new memories and experiences would layer on top of them, making the distance between us ever wider.
This was such a great story! With an original idea, incredible magic system detailed perfectly, interesting characters and just the right amount of romance, this is one of the best fantasy books I've read this year.
Didn't feel like epic fantasy as the world building is not that complex but still an enjoyable high fantasy story.
Loved Jovis and Mephi, their quirky relationship and strong connection.
I cheered for Lin to succeed in her quest within the castle, won't tell you what that was.
Got confused together with Sand only to be amazed at the final discovery.
If you want to really enjoy this, go in blindly.
