Super interesting world building, well-paced, with a strong set of main characters. Each character is well defined, with a history and a set of goals that makes them easily distinguishable. The alternating POV is a bit hard to grasp, but it comes together well at the end. The bone shard magic and the other possible types of magic kept me very engaged and excited to find out more. I find I’m more connected to the world rather than the characters, but I’m looking forward to the next books to see if they build upon what they have.
The story does lack a lot of foreshadowing for the incoming events and discoveries, but there is very rarely a dull moment, and the pace makes the lack less noticeable. There still remain a lot of unanswered questions which I hope that later installments will have answers for.

Loved this book. Very different magic system than I’m used to reading. Follows multiple perspectives, all of which I found enthralling. Can’t wait to read the second.

I loved everything about this book. The characters are well written, realistic, you get the feeling you totally know them by the end of the book. The narrative is, in my opinion, excellent. As soon as you start reading you get so many questions, and when you think you are getting some answers,... You might be surprised!
And my absolute favourites are Mephi and Jovis ♥️

It was slow in the beginning of the book but started picking up as several of the threads began developing further.
