Jolie Day is a new-to-me author who was recommended by a bookfriend. Though technically not the first book in a series, which I typically like to read books in order, this was an easy one to get into. Miles is your typical playboy billionaire who was given an ultimatum by his dad to clean up his act. Rose is a socialite who enjoys the quiet and while she lives with the loss of her dad.

The reason for them to get together is pretty surface level, however as you delve deeper into the book, you learn about the deep reasons why Miles and Rose act the way that they do. There was great banter, funny inner monologue, random thoughts that any romance readers would appreciate and hot elevator scenes.

The audiobook was narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke. I don't get to listen to enough of Samantha but I thought her voice was really appropriate for Rose's character. Jason Clarke was awesome as Miles. He really can play any character.

Overall enjoyed this book.

What a mess of a book. I was expecting a lot worse, tbh, (who the hell approved that cover?! It has massive "graphic design is my passion" vibes wtf?!) but it has its cute moments - the slow burn, the elevator stuff, the sexy times. But the narrative is all over the place and the structure is too stiff - especially towards the end, I would have loved to see something other than the drama/downfall - being apart - getting together and bam! Marriage!
It's a bit embarrassing to see the cliché being embodied.

A sweet rom-com! I don't really have many thoughts with this book, other than, it was a fun and engaging read. Was easy and quick to get through. Unsure if I will ever re-read this book, but it was definitely enjoyable, especially if you like fake-dating/forced proximity tropes.

I loved this book! Again, Samantha and Jason were fab together. At first I felt the situations were too similar to the first book in the series, but I ended up loving it more than the first. The chemistry between Rose and Miles is off the charts! It's so good!

I *genuinely* loved this book -- the story, the characters, and the narration. It far exceeded my expectations, and I'm eagerly downloading the other two books in this series right now...!

Miles and Rose
Fake dating neighbor

It was fun to see Miles meet his match in this story. :)

Rose was a perfect counter-point to Miles. I enjoyed their interactions and I loved how Rose didn't let Miles push her down, and override her wants and needs. I appreciated how she kept control of her life, and pushed for what she wanted. I loved how Miles fell in love with Rose's cat, and developed such a deep relationship with her. I loved how Miles and Rose connected during their bike rides as well.

Overall a truly enjoyable story. I really enjoy Jolie Day's writing.

At the start of this book, I struggled to find redeeming qualities in the MMC, Miles. It didn't last nearly as long as the first book. I ended up enjoying the second book more. A major part of that is attributed to the narrators. Again, two of my favorites.

One thing that stood out to me was just how much Miles used the F-word. I'm all for a dirty talking MMC, but he dropped F bombs multiple times in sentences back to back as if he had a small vocabulary. It's such a small thing but it was so annoying to me, it really stood out.
