Not quite as boring as reading about Asgard. But close. I just don't care much. Though there were bits that were more Marvel and less Wakanda. Ororo was handled pretty well. And I kind of like the implied setup of a Scooby Doo scheme of fake old gods. But at this point we don't know. Pretty art, pretty writing, just not a gripping story.

This is an incredibly strong addition to the Black Panther mythos and the world Coates is building for T'Challa and company.

I was excited to get out of what felt like the fixing of old mistakes I didn't care about and into a new story. But this new story is ultimately disappointing. There's the promise of something fun and interesting, but it's totally sunk by shitty super villain poop.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(I did finally unsubscribe to this; I'm still glad Marvel hired TNC for this particular book but it's just like not for me)

I really enjoyed this graphic novel.
In this one T'Challa and those with him are dealing with things and discover that the gods that they believed in are not there to help them. So they have to team up with other heros in order to protect Wakanda from those who are attacking their home.
I really enjoyed seeing T'Challa and his people are dealing with in this one. I liked where this one was going and enjoyed being with these characters.
I liked where this is going. I liked seeing other heros come in to help T'Challa and save Wakanda.
I am excited to see what happens in the next few volumes in this series.

Wakanda can’t catch a break! By volume four, I feel like I’ve finally identified and flowed with Coates’ comic style. I love that Shuri, Storm, Aneka, and the Dora Milaje aren’t static side characters but integral, evolving, independent characters that get shit done with or without T’Challa! There is a good mix of action, lore, politics, and identity meditation in these comics that make you want the next book.
