Shoutout to Buoni Amici Press for the digital review copy of Jourdyn Kelly’s latest book. It’s out now, so there’s no wait! You can read it. Like today. And you should. At least, I think you should.

Dani Reed and Claire Oliver are best friends. Dani has always been the outsider and Claire was the complete opposite. Hating the bullying that her friend endures, she fears facing that if anyone finds out how she really feels. When Dani and Claire finally get themselves together and confess their feelings, they are ripped apart. Two years later, they find their way back to each other, but so much has changed. Has the time apart made their feelings grow stronger or pushed them even further apart. They’ll have to make some tough decisions to find happiness.

This is my second book by Jourdyn Kelly, but it definitely be my last. During this weird year, I have dived head first into escapism. Lots of queer romance, lots of sci-fi and horror. This book did not bring down my TBR. I really enjoyed it. I’m a huge fan of the finding one another again theme.

There are some dark times in this book, but I really enjoyed the representation of disability, homelessness, and mental illness. The plot moves quickly, and I fell in love with the characters. Bonus points for being in the “New Adult” genre. I fell like YA gets a lot of hype (rightfully so), but it’s really cool that there are more novels targeted to those who are a bit passed YA but not ready for the stories of middle-aged people with kids and boring jobs. Even better when these stories are queer.

I was rooting for Dani and Claire the whole way, and I had trouble putting the book down, because I wanted them to make it, and I couldn’t wait to see if they would. If you’re looking for more ‘Rona reading, definitely add this one to your TBR.

Overall this may have been a five star read but my enjoyment was hindered a bit by certain expectations as I am fan of the whole series. If you are a fan of the previous books in this series than the first half will be new to you as well, although you might be a bit impatient to get to the "good stuff". It showed how well Dani and Claire knew each other and how they got together up until the event that separated them. Now in the part of the book were they separated at first I thought it would benefit if the author expanded a bit on how they felt during that time being separated from each other and where life took them however we get those answers when after they meet so I have no complaints there. Now if this is your first book by Kelly or you haven't read [b:Coming Out|35890652|Coming Out (An LA Lovers Book)|Jourdyn Kelly|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1501616861l/35890652._SY75_.jpg|57407925] this will be a really good ending but if you have than you might find it a predictable or may have been waiting for a few extra short stories based on what you have read from previous books or followed the extras on Kelly's facebook page However in the end it was a solid read from the author and I can't wait for the next instalment in the series.

I received an ARC for a honest review.
