Well I cried at monster erotica, so there's that.
An actual tear trickled down my face. Which is impressive given the subject matter.

Same format to the storyline. More of the plot building and lots of kinks and spicy times. What is there not to love. I’m sure I’m going to finish this series in a matter of days.

I picked this book up for something light to balance out a few heavier books I'm making my way through right now. It's the third in a series, but the only one my library had available. Each book focuses on different characters in the same workplace, so I felt confident I'd be able to catch on to any plot just fine.
It's an m/m/m smutty office romance between two monsters and a witch, which was an exciting premise! It sounded just the speed I was hankering for.
I was unfortunately disappointed at the first page. This story is written in the first person with three alternating POV characters. First person is generally really hard for me to get into, but personal taste aside, all three voices were indistinguishable from each other.
Even the non POV characters speak in the same stilted pattern, only using contractions sometimes so that everyone sounds unnaturally formal and awkward.
The prose was also clumsy in places. For example, the use of the word "beg" -- more than once it was used like "Was that a beg" instead of "Were you begging" or "Was that begging" etc.
I try not to look too hard at the logic or worldbuilding of smut novels; I'm here for a light-hearted good time! And picking things apart under a microscope doesn't feel like engaging in the genre in good faith -- a man with nails described as "claws" and "talons" fingering someone open? I will not question it!
[Spoilers below! 👻]
HOWEVER..... there was so much here that simply didnt make sense, both in the world logic (eg Charlie becoming visible to his mates but only after they'd worked in the same place together for an entire week, or how they're able to photograph him) and character logic (eg the threesome going for a sexy romp in a public park after learning that Jaehan is being directly threatened).
The spicy scenes weren't bad, particularly compared to other books in the genre, but for me, the whole book was milquetoast at best. Looooooove the idea of this story, but the execution is not to my personal taste, and I probably wouldn't recommend it.

5 ⭐️!!!
wowieee this one was one of my favorites so far honestly. I loved the 3 of these guys together so much. like so much.
Charlie, Billy & Jaehan hold a piece of my heart. Clio, well done. I loved watching them learn to love each other even when they each had so many insecurities they had to overcome.
the suspense is truly starting to get me to though I can’t believe everything that is happening & I still feel like with two books to come there is SO much we haven’t even seen yet..
