This was a very interesting story with some good world building. I would definitely be interested in a full-length novel with more time to build up what we know as readers.

Wow, I LOVED THIS. The queerest, punkest, goth-est novella out there; everyone should read it!! What a hidden gem of SFF queer lit.

Queens of Noise is queer, punk, and a lot of fun. I enjoyed the framework of the world that was introduced. The dynamic of werecoyotes to werewolves, the take on witches, making things like consent front and center in the story, and the diverse representation was all super cool. The characters had distinct personalities. The atmosphere felt authentic, and made me miss my time playing in bands. I had a couple issues; there were a few too many typos/errors within the text for my liking, and I also felt like things wrapped up rather abruptly. That being said, I still had a great time.

A delightful mix of queer punk, paranormal shifters, and battle of the bands. Mixi is the leader of a pack of werecoyotes who are queer / trans found family and a punk band. When they discover their favourite dive bar venue has been bought by gentrifiers, they go on a hunt to find out the culprit and save their space. I really liked how the the main group was family, band, and pack; it highlighted how each unit is an alternative family in its own way.

I would have loved to see this polished more: there were a number of small typos that distracted me. Plus I would have liked a bit more nuance and depth to the characterization and plot, with showing rather than telling.

This would definitely appeal to fans of Buffy who would appreciate the addition of queer and trans punk musicians!
