This was beautiful. I’m glad i discovered Jasmine Mans. Her poetry is breathtaking and powerful. I read the kindle version but I also had an audiobook version, so I could hear Jasmine’s own intention behind her words. It was an experience. I’ll be coming back to her poetry. I’ll call home;)

Stunning book of poems that stopped me in my tracks several times.
‘Tell me about the girl my mother was, before she traded in all her girl to be my mother. What did she smell like? How many friends did she have, before she had no room? Before I took up so much space in her prayers, who did she pray for?’
Some of the lines about motherhood are stuck in my head for good! A must read.

“I know trauma uses silence as a survival mechanism.” This poetry collection is so incredibly important. Absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful.

Gostei muito deste livro. Direto e forte. Intenso e belo. A mim faz-me sempre alguma confusão as referências a Deus mas deixei-me levar para compreender de onde vêem estas sensações e dentro do que foi possível assim o fiz. Gostava de ver uma peça de teatro, performance com este material.

I have so many notes throughout this book of poetry about how stunning a line is, or a stanza, or a whole poem. Jasmine Man's poetry really hits you in the heart and stays there.
