so much fun, i would have appreciated a little bit deeper themes but it did exactly what it set out to do and i had fun the whole way through :))

Okay so here's the thing: this book absolutely fumbled some important stuff, including its depiction of sexual assault, its biracial mc, and kind of the ending? But I really liked the atmospheric parts, and even though, as many reviewers say, the plot didn't pick up for a long time, it didn't bother me. I liked spending time in this world with these characters and want to read the next book. I get why this doesn't work for a lot of people and I feel hesitant to recommend it, but I can't say that I didn't overall have a good time
