This is the first time I’ve read this classic bit of literary erotica. Wow! D.H. Lawrence impressed me again. His writing is gorgeous and thoughts way ahead of his time. This story, the dialogue, the societal critiques, even today would hold some merit. This book has everything you would expect from a banned book dealing with the aftermath of war, classism, the concepts of open marriage and divorce, the recognition of sexual passions and sexual diversity.

This book really taught me what a female character written by a man means. I can understand why it was scandalous for the time, but there is little that is worth revisiting in this age

There are so many things wrong with this book and it really isn’t very good, but there are some fun quippy lines and I enjoyed reading it in spite of myself (and the constant droning on about industrialization and the depressing state of humanity)
