This book was so boring. My first time reading H P Lovecraft and I expected at least some… chills maybe… but nothing. I had a really hard time getting through the pages. It’s all men, practically the same character in every story, and utterly uninteresting and predictable ”plots” (that’s even a bit of a stretch to be honest). Very dissaponted.

read this on the train in the dark - spooky and fun to arrive in the big city and hope to see little creatures scurrying around on the railway tracks. as always I'm on the side of the monsters not the protagonists in Lovecrafts stories. neat how this gave some insight and examples of the kind of art that inspired him, I looked them all up and enjoyed them. and the descriptions of the horrifying art is perfectly balanced between being descriptive and letting the reader imagine it on their own. a fun romp.
