I've been following the Wayward Children books for years now, but somehow I fell behind with the most recent installments. I recently read book seven, and I decided to make Lost In The Moment And Found a priority after rediscovering my love for this series. And I'm glad I did! This is without doubt one of my favorite novellas of the bunch even though there are parts that are hard to read. Lost In The Moment And Found is quite dark as it focuses on child abuse, grooming, gaslighting and death of a parent among other things. I could really appreciate the author's note, which made it easier to read some of the more triggering scenes... This novella is not all sad though, as it has the same whimsical dose of magical realism with the strange thrift shop and the main character traveling to unknown worlds. Still, even at the shop there is a lesson to be learned, and again Lost In The Moment And Found is a lot darker than expected throughout. I could appreciate how everything was wrapped up in the end though, and I will be looking forward to the next one.

I definitely enjoyed this one more then the last one. This was not as dark as the other book but I feel had the right amount of dark for the story line. I am worried about the future of the world after seeing reading this book with out putting spoilers. Though in general like always a great read and worth it.

I love The Wayward Children series. This is another lovely installment about a child searching to fulfill a need. Antsy runs from a scary situation into an adventure, that turns out not to be as fun as it could be. In this story, you find a diverse cast, interesting settings, a distinctly wondrous feel to the world that Seanan Maguire has created. I am a big fan of all her books, and Lost in the Moment and Found is a delightful addition to her works.

it was really good - i loved learning more of Antsy’s backstory, i just usually like the books in this series with more expansive casts more

A darker tale involving the selfishness of adults and the perilous circumstances in which children sometimes have to grow up, Antsy's introduction fits well in the Wayward Children universe. While it works as a standalone novel, there are plenty of homages to our other heroes to catch the attention of fans of the series.
