An excellent coming-of-age story about 3 generations of women. The youngest is the narrator. At times, she doesn't think like a 9-yr-old, but a funny novel with some great action.
I'm so happy that I gave this a chance, because I didn't love her last book. I just absolutely loved the vibe of this book. Funny and sad and funny again all at the same time. Grandma is one of my favorite characters ever. LOVED this.

Stylistically, this one starts out a little all over the place. Can be a bit hard to follow/confusing. But it was actually effective with the kind of story it was trying to tell. And when it finally came together at the end, and it does all come together, it was... magic. Funny, smart, has a huge heart!
Not quite sure what to say about this one. Grandma is certainly quite a character, and the family dynamics are certainly interesting.
I couldn’t get momentum with this book but I did enjoy spending time with the characters. I laughed out loud quite a bit. Swiv is a delightful narrator and her grandma was so real. Beautiful book.
