You can look at science fiction in one of two ways. First, there’s the kind that tries to extrapolate the future and only concerns itself with what’s possible. Then there’s the stuff that’s more concerned with imagination and is more concerned with what the author can conjure up from their subconscious. While there are good examples of the former, I tend to prefer the latter. That’s what this pulp short story does, and I enjoyed reading it, despite some, ahem, dated problems.
