The only reason for the missing half star is because it did get a little bogged down in the middle, the story would still have been very compelling and beautiful with a few chapters edited out. With that said, this book was wonderful. There's kidnapping, murder, family, chosen family, love, heart, obsession, literally all of the things. I cannot give details because spoilers would be a sin, I don't even recommend reading the synopsis, just read this book and trust that you'll like it, if not love it. The characters were excellent, with so much growth and development; though I should hope so given that the book spans decades. Seriously, love this story so much and looking forward to reading more from this author.
