When I finished Suit, I was so confused, my head was spinning, and I was utterly heartbroken. It left me with a huge hangover and to say that I was nervous about reading Slut would have been a total understatement. I was really nervous, but I was also very excited and eager to get answers to if not all, then most of my questions. And man, did I ever get my answers! Some were unexpected, some were not surprising at all, and some gave me more questions, but nothing could take away from the amazing book that Slut is and I just can't tell you how much I loved it!!

What can I say about Gabriella? I guess I can tell you that's she's an incredibly strong heroine and I think she has grown a lot. She's sassier extremely determined, and she stands up to Pax and makes him listen. Gabriella is just totally awesome and I love her even more than I did before!!

Now at the end of Suit, Paxton just completely tore my heart out and I could not have told you how I felt about him if I tried. Of course, as soon as I started reading Slut, if I was mad him, I couldn't be anymore and I couldn't stop myself from loving him. And I don't know why, but Paxton absolutely owns me. He stole my heart with his all his goodness and even all his not-so-goodness and I can resist him about just as much as Gabriella can and that's not a whole lot. Paxton Pierce has all of me and I wholeheartedly love him!

Slut will take on unbelievable journey that will shock, amaze, and enchant you. It demands all of your attention, refuses to let go of it's hold on you, and it will make you desperate to find out everything. There are times that made my heart ache, times that made me laugh and there were moments where I couldn't stop smiling. It was a spectacular book and it's definitely one of the best books I've read all year!!

Slut must be read after Suit, it's told from Gabriella's POV, and although there are still some unanswered questions, we do get a happy ending!

Suit - Slut - Solid Twin duo
SUIT - SLUT - SOLID by Jettie Woodruff

Adult Dark Erotic Romance. These do not stand alone.
I'm not usually a lover of dark and twisted, but sometimes I need to change things up. I had heard Suit by Jettie Woodruff was dark but not too dark. So I gave it a go, and I am so glad I did.

SUIT

Total. Mindfuck. I was glued to the pages and read it in one sitting, then desperately waited for the next book, Slut, to release. I ended Suit still confused and questioning everything, but in the best way. The cliffy almost made this series more fun.

Gabby and Paxton are not your average couple. It seems that Paxton is a total controlling asshole as Gabby runs out to get some milk for the kids right as a tropical storm is bearing down on them. She sees her twin sister, whom she never told her husband about and hasn't seen in 13 years. The next thing you know, Gabby is waking up in the hospital with no knowledge at all of her life before.

She doesn't know her husband, or her kids, but the way Paxton treats her is appalling! He tells her he owns her in every way. He is cruel sexually and emotionally. They don't even sleep in the same bed. She is thoroughly controlled by him.
"I was blessed with nice everything. A nice home. A nice car. Beautiful children. A pool right outside my room.... And… One fucked up marriage. I was a kept woman... I was a glorified whore."

But as Gabby's injuries heal, she begins to assert her true self, and she doesn't put up with the shit that Paxton throws at her the way she used to. While she strangely enjoys some of the abusive sex with her handsome husband, the rest? Not so much.
"Paxton did things to me. Things I couldn’t explain. My body reacted to him like- danger. A thrill seeker. That’s how I felt around him. Like jumping out of a plane. The ecstasy of it overpowering the danger."

She seems to be a totally different woman than the one before the accident. Paxton thinks she is faking, trying to change the rules of the cruel master/slave agreement they had, and the reader wonders if she is really Gabby, or perhaps not? He liked the marriage the way it was, with his unfeeling slave, but this Gabby who came home from the hospital was different. She challenged him, she was passionate, and she wanted him.
“I don’t want to love you, Gabriella. I want to take care of you financially, I want to give you everything you ever wanted, and I want you to be a good mother to my kids.”
“You want to control me.” His hands held mine, one on each side of my head. Our eyes stayed locked and our lips close. “It’s a tradeoff. One that worked just fine before you decided to do this. Why can’t you go back to being you? Being us?”
“Is that what you want?”
“No.”

So many questions left unanswered, even more questions arising from the massive cliffhanger ending....

I. LOVED. IT.

SLUT

"Stupid Little Fish"

So. Many. Layers.  Hold on to your kindles, it's a wild ride. Just when you think you know what's going on...BOOM, Slut twists you in another direction. Gabriella is starting to remember a few things. Things she'd rather not know, and things she wants to know more of.
"Tell me the truth. I’ve heard enough lies for a lifetime.”

But the more she remembers, the more confused everything gets.
"Just when I thought I could see a glow at the end of the tunnel, another obstruction blocked my view and everything went dark. A metaphor for my life."

While in Suit I didn't think I could ever find myself liking Paxton, in Slut I began to. But then I would hate him again. Then love him. Gabby felt much the same way.

Gabby was still very strong, and even stronger in Slut. And Pax lost a lot of his dominance and control. The couple actually began to have a beautiful family life. And I finally began to love this dysfunctional couple and root for their happiness.

Slut quote Jettie Woodruff

But the more questions that were answered, the more that arose. As Slut ended, while it was a good ending, it left you wanting more. Luckily the day I finished Slut, Solid released!

SOLID

Slight spoiler for Suit:
SpoilerSolid is a bonus told partially from Paxton's POV. It's not necessary but is a great addition to the series. As Gabriella remembers more bits and pieces of the past, she really struggles to separate the horrible, cruel Paxton in her memories and the new Paxton who is absolutely in love with his new Gabby.

More questions are answered. There is angst. I still wanted to punch Paxton in the face a few times, but at others I really liked him.
"Who says a solid foundation has to start from scratch? Sometimes you just have to let go of rock bottom, catch the bricks being thrown at you, and build your own foundation. Solid is built on trust, not lies and deceit, and nobody’s going to build it for you. I learned that the hard way."

Solid was a great addition to the series, but I still feel like there could be more to the story.

Series Likes:

  • •Holy moly, what a roller coaster.

  • •Completely out of the norm for me.

  • •While billed as a "dark, erotic romance" I didn't find it very dark, but I found it very twisty.

  • •Paxton was a total dick, I thought he wouldn't be redeemable, but Jettie redeemed him (almost).

  • •The sex was totally hot, even though it felt wrong being turned on by it.

  • •Every time you think you know what's happening you don't.

  • •I loved the rocks, and Mi.

  • •Completely different than anything I have ever read.

  • •Seeing a bit of Paxton's point of view in Solid.

Series Dislikes:

  • •There were a few too many errors in all three books, though I understand a new corrected version of Solid was uploaded.

  • •Not every question was answered.

  • •I could never let myself fully get over the asshole-ness of Paxton.

The Down & Dirty:

Suit - Slut- Solid may be my most unique reads of 2015. The story was so twisted and layered it's like nothing you ever read before. You don't know whether to love or hate the male lead or whether to trust the heroine. Just when you think you know what's going on, the rug is pulled from under you. The Twin duo series is engrossing, engaging and unputdownable. It's a mind-fuck of epic proportions that leaves you wondering about the character's real feelings, but even more so, it makes you wonder about your own.

Rating: 4.25-4.5 Stars (Suit, the first book, was closer to a 5), 4.75 Heat

description

WOW there are so many more secrets, little by little they are being uncovered. I loved the flashbacks being they fill in the gaps. It gives an insight into Pax and Gabby's lives. One particular memory broke my heart, it had me crying my eyes out. It was so sad and I wish it ended in another way but I kind of saw it coming though. (but I still wasn't prepared) I am dying to get my hands on Solid!! I need to know more!!

Omg

Amazing book and people drama. I almost feel serene after reading through the adventures of Pax and Gabi. Gabi an amnesiac victim regrows her life with more abundance in part two of a HEA story.

I can't tell you how disappointing this sequel was.

The first book in the Twin Duo was suspenseful and sharp and smart. This book was too disjointed to be any of those things. It was simply put, an extreme mess.

Too much was happening at once so that major revelations never got resolved. The alpha male villain male lead/love interest had a complete personality transplant so you could rest assured that he was a good guy by the end of it.

I think that a lot of the time, authors start their stories off dark and controversial, and then they just don't follow through because it's definitely safer not to. Not everybody likes reading controversial, dark novels.

I was never given a true reason why Paxton was the way he was, but I could of dealt with that if he hadn't suddenly turned into Mr. nice guy. It was so unbelievable and I didn't understand it. I came here for a dark romance but once again, a dark romance has turned into a play by the rules mushy gushy soap opera.

I also didn't understand Gabby. At all. She only had one concrete emotion throughout the whole book, and that was that she loved her children.
Everything else that she felt could change in literally one page.

She loves her life. No, wait. She hates it. She's running away forever. No, wait. She could never leave. She hates her husband. He's the devil. No, wait. He's such a dream boat. She's angry about something. She'll never get over it. No, wait. She'll have sex and suddenly it won't matter.

Everything was so back and forth. It was tedious.

Lastly, the thriller aspect of the first novel was completely absent here. I pretty much had all the information when I began this story. I got a couple of reveals (if you could even call them that) but they don't even inspire any interest. They are predictable.

So overall, this book deserves only two stars.

The male lead wasn't a villain anymore.
The female lead was a total flake.

And everything read like a soap opera instead of a high stakes mystery thriller.

Amazing

Love love love this story , the revelations keep coming there's never a dull moment ,this tale is all kinds of messed up a twisted backwards love story that doesn't quite answer all the questions that have been thrown out there ,secrets have a way of surfacing. Paxton is still Pax just a more toned down version and gabby well let's just say she defo found her backbone , an addictive read.

Reading this conclusion was a roller ouster of WTF moments. I honestly have no words for most of what I read. Finding out answers just led to more questions. There is so much pain and sadness in this book that you need a antidepressant just to read it. That's what made it so good. Any book that can put you through the ringer like that deserves a million stars.
The ONLY thing I didn't like was the unanswered ?huh?. I won't give it away but that sucked for me.
Thanks Jettie for an amazing ride.

UGGG! Surprised that I finished this series. First off, there are tons of grammatical and punctuation mistakes in this series. Ridiculous. I loved Unpredictable series so I was excited to dive into this one. The first book was pretty good, but man the second one, the female lead just drove me out of my mind. What an annoying woman. Had a hard time relating to her.....at all. Would not recommend series. Premise a bit too far out for me. With fiction, I'm happy to extend reality, but this was just too much.
