oh to become wretched at the hands of your own maker, in the absence of affection, and in the continued excommunication from anyone else

“Unfeeling, heartless creator! You had endowed me with perceptions and passions and then cast me abroad an object for the scorn and horror of mankind.” 💔

Nature was a big one in this but unfortunately all the beautiful descriptions were wasted on me, a non-lover of scenery. Therefore, I enjoyed this more for the bigger picture than the details. The creation’s story was heartbreaking and Victor deserved all the misery.

Oh and I purchased this gorgeous edition but after reading this most of the lettering has faded away. Still pretty, but I am sad about that.

The first couple chapters are Walton's letters, which are honestly quite boring and difficult to get through, but once you get past them it gets really good so I would advise not giving up on it!

VERY slow start up. No real action until Chapter 4.

Honestly I liked this version a lot better than the various abridged versions I’ve read in the past. I have a lot more thoughts but they are hard to put into words.

“It’s Pronounced Fronkensteen.” Good novel. Was surprised by the plot. The syntax was a bit old timey and harder to read but not bad.
