I had high expectations for this one and, unfortunately, it just did not live up to them. I found Victor Frankenstein incredibly irritating and most of the other characters lacked any real flaws, making them one dimensional. The dramatic style of the prose was not something I gelled with either.

Some of the sections from Frankenstein's Monster's perspective were interesting, but since these were the minority, I could not give this a good rating.

Classic story of man’s arrogance leading to doom from lack of humanity. Created a genre and is still relevant today.

exposition is good. however, TOO much exposition is not, which is unfortunately what this book suffers from. absolutely nothing is left to the imagination. i would still suggest reading this if you haven't bc of it's importance as one of the first sci-fi novels, and if you like a lot of explanation than this book is perfect for you! 

(ps: frankenstein and clerval were kinda fruity)
