Excellent Gothic literature read. I have a complicated opinion as I didn't like Frankenstein (annoying, whiney, self-pitying in short) but I resonated with the Creature very much.

Overall, a meaningful story about isolation and abandonment that hit home.

Read this for French class, and enjoyed this less than when I listened to this in audiobook format. Frankenstein isn’t as monstrous as some people make him out to be, but he is a whiny little brat. 3 ⭐️

I had high expectations for this one and, unfortunately, it just did not live up to them. I found Victor Frankenstein incredibly irritating and most of the other characters lacked any real flaws, making them one dimensional. The dramatic style of the prose was not something I gelled with either.

Some of the sections from Frankenstein's Monster's perspective were interesting, but since these were the minority, I could not give this a good rating.
