himissjulie's review against another edition
This book doesn't sit well with me; I didn't particularly enjoy the previous title, either. It seems to be mocking vernacular speech? I don't know. Why is the sheep named Ewe, if she is a ewe? Couldn't the yam just say, This ewe is named Ewe? And, like, she gets harassed with all these unwelcome declarations of love? I'll need to ponder my thoughts for a while.

I do not like this style of illustration, but the story is pretty funny. Kind of a who's on first of homonyms in this story in which a yam (?) tries to explain the difference between you and ewe to a confused donkey. Lots of weird fun ensues, but kids would need to be quite a bit older to get it.
