This rom com was refreshing and delightful! Ashanti is the owner of a doggie daycare and dog treat business that goes viral. She meets the grouchy grandson of one of her favourite clients, and sparks fly (despite a bad first impression). I loved how multi faceted Ashanti was and that whilst running her business, she was navigating the complexities of real life - including caring for her teenage sisters.

Pardon My Frenchie is funny and sweet, leans into the enemies to lovers trope, there’s some very sweet dogs (including a doggie pageant), and a whirlwind trip to New York City. So many great elements and a lot of heart.

Thanks to Forever + NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I love this black romance with queer black side character representation. Gave me all the feels. And as a hopeful future dog owner I learned a lot. I want to make biscuits for it too. Not a military fan but was an interesting part of the story. Also love new Orleans references makes me want to visit soon. And I almost thought this book had no smut but there is in fact smut thank the ancestors. It didn't need it but I always enjoy good spice.
