I heard mixed things about this book so I wanted to read it before I made the decision to put it in my library. I liked how this book was just not about hooking up but also other things that teens go through. I probably wouldn't put it in my library but would recommend it to a senior or someone who has just graduated.

Bianca is one of those characters that are so real and totally relatable especially for me. I can see that some people wouldn't like her but I thought she was refreshing and honest. I really liked this story and felt that I haven't read a story like this in about a year.

Even though Wesley was a huge womanizer he definately one of those characters that you love to hate. I think I would have fallen for him too.

Her two best friends were great because I like how opposite they were but they were always there for each other.

I'm excited about reading more from Kody Keplinger!

I had a few problems with it, and it took me some time to get immersed in the story. The pacing picked up after page 60, and it was then that I was sucked into the story. I enjoyed the dialogue and liked reading about most of the characters - especially Casey and Jessica - but Bianca's decisions and actions sometimes pissed me off. Sometimes, the story got kind of predictable and clichéd, and nothing that happened surprised me. Also, I wish the ending wasn't as rushed as it was and we had gotten to see at least one real Bianca-Wesley date.

overall, it was a good read, but didn't live up to my expectations.

I can't believe I'm giving this book 5 stars. :D Unexpected, funny, light, an easy-read. A refreshing break from my serious reads. And definitely better than the movie. :)

I liked this book way more than I though I would. The main character is cynical and sarcastic, and I found her hilarious. This book made me think about how I viewed myself and how I think others view me. It's a great book to make you ponder your perceptions about beauty, reputations, and hypocrisies.

I guess it is fitting that I read this book obsessively in one sitting. As the main character, Bianca, finds herself obsessed with "the wrong guy", I found myself obsessed with the story. I read in less than 24 hours, staying up too late and then immediately finishing it the next morning. This is the kind of story I think a lot of girls can relate to - we've all felt like the DUFF (designated ugly fat friend) before, as Bianca eventually learns.

I liked the literary references and themes that ran through the book - as Bianca is reading The Scarlet Letter and Wuthering Heights, it's very clear how the stories relate to her world and reading the stories seem to help her understand herself better - and I'm always in support of encouraging people to read the classics (or anything, really - read anything).

Now the caveats: This book contains a lot of mature content - namely, sex. Far more than one would expect to find in a "young adult" novel - maybe I need to get with the times and acknowledge that this is realistic but I'd caution you not to recommend it to younger readers because I'm not sure the book sends an entirely healthy message in the long run. Everything works out well for the characters of the story, but even our main character will acknowledge that this is not always the case.

The Duff, in my opinion, was not that great. I hesitated for a long time to read this book. Then i saw the movie and I thought that i could not wait to read this! I do realise that it is completely different. I just couldn't connect with the characters, especially Bianca.

“Wesley Rush doesn't chase girls, but I'm chasing you.”

I'm one of the people who read this after watching the movie, and the movie definitely took some liberties with the story, as they're both extremely different from each other. I don't really think that this is a bad thing though, as I personally really liked both iterations. The book definitely surprised me (those of you who have experienced both know what I'm talking about), but I ended up thoroughly enjoy this story. I love the main character, I think she's extremely funny and very relatable. And Wesley is really amazing too. He was one of the first book boyfriends that I loved. This book is awesome, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre.

A story of flawed characters trying to get it together. Saw the movie and didn't realize there was a book, so I picked it up. A quick read for when you need a comfort story.
