3.59 AVERAGE

3.5 stars. Despite the ridiculous title and the sometimes overly descriptive language, this somehow worked for me. Even though it was very Gay For Only You, the friendship between Dean and Sloane felt special from the start and the ensuing development of it organic. The secondary characters were lovely, Sloane's mom and Marco (can we get him an adorable boyfriend of his own?) in particular and I'm definitely interested in reading more about the Men of Fort Dale.

This was really cute. I loved Sloane’s mom’s support for his relationship. Also thought it was really cool that Sloane never had an identity crisis. Pretty darn adorable, if ya ask me!

An okay book. Nothing great or surprising. Very predicable and maybe even a but bland. Writing was also pretty average.

Just fine

This was a short read where everything happens at warp speed.

Dean and Sloane's initial sexual encounters were more uncomfortable to read than they were steamy.

I didn't enjoy reading about Dean holding a torch for Sloane for all those years or how Dean would be a doormat for Sloane no matter what. I wish their relationship happened more organically.

I really liked this book. Sloane and Dean have an extra close, some may say too close, friendship. They are extremely comfortable being intimate with each other. I enjoy the whole "gay for you" trope, mostly because I believe people can find that one exception, where it doesn't matter the body but the person. This is that. Sloane is definitely gay for Dean, not gay. I liked both characters and their unique personalities. It was a fun book to read. I'm going to check out the rest of the series.

STEAM LEVEL:

straight guy falls for gay best friend is one of my favorite tropes... when it’s done right.
everything was too slow in the first part, and then suddenly we went from “i am straight” to “fucking another dude” in the span of thirty seconds.
yeah.... no.

So sweet story
