I enjoyed this more as the book went along and I'd become more attached to the characters. Heavy on details about life in 1400s China; would recommend to fans of historical fiction.

En apenas dos libros, Lisa See ya se ha convertido en una de mis autoras favoritas. Después de leer “La isla de las mujeres del mar” y “El círculo de mujeres de la doctora Tan”, no puedo más que admirar su maestría para narrar la amistad entre mujeres. A través de escenarios orientales, sus historias transmiten emociones universales: el amor, el perdón y la entrega, específicamente, entre mujeres en su forma más admirable, intensa y auténtica. Una lectura que recomiendo a quienes buscan historias que no borraran de su mente jamás.

It's about a topic I don't like: motherhood in the first years, pregnancies (a lot of them), giving birth. If you don't like those topics stay away from this book. If you don't mind it, take in consideration that it the main topic of the book. Also we have a lot of Chinese Medicine focus on woman health (this it was the reason why I started to read it).
Well written as every Lisa See's book but not my thing.
