I had a really hard time wanting to read this book which was disappointing because her other books captivate me. I enjoyed the premise of the main character and her storyline of being a doctor but overall it was a difficult story to get into.

DNF @ 30%. I felt like I was taking a class on ancient Chinese history and while parts were ok it overall just did not interest me.

This is the first book I read by Lisa See and I LOVED it. Incredible story based on Real people and I learned so much about 15th/16th century china. I had chosen it for a book club and I also really appreciated all her book club questions and tea to try along with it!
