This book had me hooked by the plot. Romance was very slow but the plot was so intense it didn’t matter. Didn’t expect the plot twist.

This is so slept on. I really enjoyed jumping back into an older-style fantasy that includes romance but isn’t exclusively categorized as Romantasy. Kind of gave me Throne of Glass vibes but stands out completely on its own.
The world-building and magic system is unique and interesting, and I loved the writing style, it really immersed me in the world.
I loved the build-up between Tisaanah and Max. They had a very genuine relationship, and I really liked that it wasn’t instant attraction.
