A very entertaining read! The plot was lost a bit at times and I didn’t quite understand Annabelle’s initial attraction to the duke for her subsequent actions to make sense to me, especially given her background story. But I greatly appreciated the friendships between Annabelle and the suffragists and the underlying social justice elements.

A fun read. The positives really come from the historical additions. The FMC has a lot of backbone which I love to see. Enjoyable female friendships. The romance part was a classic trope, but it always works. The MMC was solid.

Absolutely love this book! Like a dirty spin on Jane Austen and she votes for women! I don’t think you could do anything else to this book to make it better. I can’t wait for what Evie has planned for the next novel about the rebellious leader Lucie! ❤️

I loved that my expectations for this book were subverted in just the most wonderful way. We are dealing with a very intense class situation, the Duke, of course, is high class, Annabelle is much lower. She just wants to go to Oxford and study and better her mind and they really bond over having intellectual debates. All set against the suffrage movement and a real turning point in history.

This was a tough book to ge through for me. I don't know if it is that I just watched Bridgerton and I kept thinking of that, or if it was something else.
It wasn't bad enough to not read, but not good enough to read again or highly recommend.

This book had me giggling like an idiot. I loved every moment of it. I love an independent FMC and to wrap her up in a love story was perfection.
