Although I loved the premise, I really disliked Liz, the FMC. Yes, she can be relatable, and yes, you probably know a Liz in real life, but that does not mean I want to read about her. She: severly lacked empathy; ensured that if she was suffering, EVERYONE around her suffered as well; purposefully tried to destabilise the colony of the people helping her; and had extra loud sex when in public areas in the hopes others would leave them (including having to leave their own beds in the middle of the night).

Liz was so ridiculously unlikeable that she made Raahosh, who kidnapped her and is forceful with his sexual advances, look like a sweet angel. In his defence, I definitely did start to warm up to him by the 30% mark. But all-in-all, these two are the couple that make you think, "There really is someone for everyone."

It became boring and repetitive. I couldn’t see anything exciting happening.

I really enjoy how feisty Liz is and how much of a grumpy-cat Raahosh is. Their constant bickering back and forth with one another makes me so amused. I can't wait for the next book. (03/2024)

Barbarian Alien follows on directly from book one. Liz is sassy AF and I love her for her stubborn and mischievous ways, but I didn't vibe with some of the early content—consent is dubious at best, and that’s being generous. The romance is definitely one for fans of the fated mates, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and hurt/comfort tropes. Overall an enjoyable, quick read that does a good job of setting the foundation for the series whilst also having plenty of spice.

I’m gonna be honest, when I started this series, I never thought I would be giving any of these books a four-star. But I can’t help it with this one, I just had such a fun time reading it I had to give it a four star.

Is it profound? No. Is the plot really interesting and intriguing and surprising? Not really. But, the characters are addicting and is the story just a really fun time. This is your typical hate to love grumpy relationship with delicious smut.

It reads like a fanfiction, and the main character can kind of be annoying and sometimes sometimes it feels like there are some holes in the plot but honestly honestly it was a fun read, it was enjoyable. If you’re looking for something that’s just gonna be quick easy and fun to read then this series is for you.
