I was prepared to give this book three stars until I got to the ending. Ugh! What an absolutely awful ending. This book isn’t particularly compelling. It’s not a book you “can’t put down.” The mystery is interesting enough, but you persist to get the solution, not because you’re invested in the plot or the characters. Also I didn’t particularly like the author’s writing style. (And, man, does he like starting lines of dialogue with “No, yeah…”)
