This was my first listen through NetGalley. This story kept me intrigued! I didn’t guess the outcome. Enjoyable listen.

Locust Lane is a mystery thriller that had me turning the pages fast! I was so eager to know where it was headed and who was responsible for the murder. I couldn’t put it down!

The book starts with a man hitting a dog while out on an early morning drive. When he gets out of the car, he’s sure he sees someone standing in the wooded area. Soon we find out that a girl, named Eden Perry, was murdered in a house nearby. The story is told by the points of view of a few different characters who all have some relationship to the murder.

I like this book because I was constantly thinking a different person was responsible. It made the story very exciting.

Locust Lane is expected to be published in January 2023. I recommend it to mystery thriller lovers. Stephen Amidon is an excellent storyteller and I definitely look forward to reading more of his books.

Thank you to NetGalley and Celadon Books for providing this book to me for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is the first book I have read by Amidon, and it won't be the last. It is the story of an incident that happened where a teen girl dies. Her friends are very quiet about what happened, but the real story is how the parents handle the crime and their children's roles in it. Michel, father of Christopher, and Alice, Hannah's stepmother, are having an affair. Oliver and Celia are Jack's parents, and have covered for Jack in the past. Patrick, drunk, hits a dog and sees a man. Eden is the girl who dies, and her mom is Danielle. Geoff is Hannah's dad, and Oliver asks for his help to prove Jack's innocence. These parents are all trying to cover for their children, while not knowing what really happened that fateful night.
I did suspect the person responsible, but not all the subtle things that were also included in the story. Very good.

A murder mystery at its finest - a girl shows up dead after she hosts a small gathering with 3 friends. They’re all seen as suspects. I like how the story is constructed, told by multiple perspectives (including that of the parents of everyone involved). I wanted to read fast so I could find out who did it, but at the same time I figured it out about 2/3 of the way and then it didn’t feel so interesting anymore. But it is a clever story, and definitely a page turner. I’m glad I was able to read an advance copy provided by the publisher.
