If you want to learn about the technicality of writing and pick up some tips/tricks, this book has it.
But what makes this book special is how King delves past all that and reminds us that the art of writing is ultimately about being truthful to ourselves. It's about unabashedly manifesting our thoughts, feelings, and experiences onto the page.

I read this book every couple of years. King is in my head since I was a kid. He inspires me. He is no bullshit and is also not full of shit. These are my daily goals.

This was really good. I am generally not interested in subject matter of most of King's stuff, but this has me reconsidering.

It's a great book, but I felt like his flow of thought was everywhere. Beginning was good, but the ending has some parts where the thoughts were all over the place.

Before you ask any questions about writing, technical or vocational, read this book. Before you ask if you can do X or Y, or if you should, read this book. Before you turn your nose up at anyone's work or opinion, read this book. It has alcoholism and a car accident. Read the book. You will learn cultural references and phrases you have never heard. Read the book. I have never read a book of King's and it doesn't matter. Love him or hate him, this book is the best book on writing I have ever read. Why are you listening to what I'm saying? Listen to what he says. READ THE BOOK.
