This is a short story and I usually don’t like to read short stories because I like longer more fleshed out stories. Beckett and Viktor.
Viktor, an unhinged hockey goalie, and Beckett, the new assistant coach. They met on some type of yacht party and Viktor liked what he saw. From there, Viktor was relentless in his pursuit of Beckett, to the point of obsession and stalking. Very romantic lol. There is an undeniable pull between these two and Beck is doing everything in his power not to give in and cross that line, but Viktor is constantly tempting him. As their relationship progresses, Beckett’s past unfortunately followed him to his new job, and threatens their relationship.
Tbh, I went into this book for the smut. That didn’t disappoint, but there were some unexpected vulnerable moments that gave the characters more depth that I liked. All in all, cute story.

I grew up with baseball as my sport of choice. Why oh why do hockey romances have such an irresistible lure for me? I don’t get it.
Alas, this series has been SO addictive! I devoured them in hours (which has to a sign of good books, right?). This story is about Viktor and Beckett. I felt for Viktor, his facade vs. his actual self. I think most people can relate to the notion of being two different people, one for the public and one for personal. While Viktor has a different family dynamic (bio and found), his character is no different.
I also appreciated that Eli had a role in Viktor’s story. Knowing the players were a family is one thing, knowing their S.O.s are as well is another. Friendships and family aren’t taken lightly in this series, which adds to the complexity and the dynamics of each story. I’m curious for the next book as the ‘reason’ for the tension between Viktor and Zach was revealed. I’m so hooked!
